Abstract

The article explores the phenomenon of civic engagement as a key component of activist political culture in Ukraine, particularly within the context of its historical development and contemporary challenges. The evolution of civic engagement during the periods of independence formation, the Orange Revolution, the preparation for the Revolution of Dignity, the Euromaidan Revolution itself, and the subsequent Russian aggression is analyzed. The decisive role of civic engagement in the formation and strengthening of activist political culture, its impact on social values, political consciousness, and the capacity for self-organization is revealed. The specific features of the manifestation of civic engagement at various stages of Ukraine's development, including mass protests, the volunteer movement, and participation in reforms, are disclosed. It is demonstrated that active citizen participation is not only an indicator of democratic development but also a crucial factor in national resilience. Based on the conducted analysis, it is concluded that civic engagement holds key significance for the formation of a mature and effective political culture in Ukraine, capable of withstanding external threats and facilitating internal transformations.
