CONCEPTUALIZATION OF COMBAT FOOTAGE USE IN SOCIAL NETWORKS

Abstract


The article analyzes the method of influencing public opinion through social networks, namely combat footage videos, which, with the development of communication technologies, play an increasingly important role in shaping the global media space. The use of such videos in a historical retrospective is summarized, historical cases of influence and manipulation are emphasized, and ways and methods of distributing combat footage videos in the new era of digital media are presented. The results of the study revealed that combat footage videos are a powerful tool for emotional influence and mobilization of public opinion, they contribute to the formation of national identity and can be used to manipulate emotions and public opinion, since most of the context of the videos is lost when published in social media applications. It was found that due to the rapid distribution through social networks, such videos are able to reach wide audiences and create a viral effect, which makes them an effective political technology. It is substantiated that the effective use of combat footage videos has a significant impact on the psychological state of social network users, who constantly consume such information that can lead to the normalization of violence or cause traumatic consequences. It was demonstrated that their decentralized distribution creates challenges for verifying the authenticity, regulating social media applications and controlling published content, increasing the risks of informational impact on social stability, in particular, facts of manipulation of the use of combat footage videos were established in order to create the necessary image in the eyes of society. Different approaches to the conceptualization and interpretation of combat footage videos as a media product that has an impact not only on information policy, but also on cultural and social processes in societies that consume military content are analyzed. It was found that this type of content can be used not only for informing, but also for manipulating public opinion and public sentiment.
