Abstract
The discourse surrounding the organisation and conduct of the first post-war elections in our country has been analysed. This discourse is represented by a wide range of experts in the scientific, public and governmental spheres.
The arguments and attitudes of various experts regarding the need to adopt new electoral legislation for the first post-war elections have been examined.
It has been found that some scholars consider it possible to hold the first post-war elections in accordance with the existing legislative framework. They appeal to the need to end the tradition of constantly changing electoral legislation and emphasise that the current legislation complies with European electoral standards.
It has been established that some experts advocate amendments to existing legislation, or even the urgent need to develop and adopt a completely new law. They emphasise the need to prevent the challenges and threats that have arisen as a result of full-scale war and which could not have been foreseen.
A list of issues has been identified that require priority legal regulation to ensure the organisation and conduct of the first post-war elections. These include, in particular: changing the method of voter registration from passive to active; guaranteeing the right to vote for internally displaced persons, military personnel and foreign voters; creating safeguards for the exercise of voting rights for collaborators and those who have left Ukraine illegally; extending the deadlines for organising and conducting elections, etc.
