The work contains numerous sentences, each of which could serve as an epigraph to this profound and captivating book. One of them, which may be regarded as the quintessence, states: “Reason” (and everything that exists alongside it) deserves no less than to be addressed with the utmost respect - as “You”!
As the author himself emphasizes, this book presents the thorny path of humanity toward itself - “per aspera ad astra” — toward higher wisdom and justice. The universal achievements gained along this path are transmitted across generations through the spiritual and practical experience acquired by humankind in the course of its multifaceted activity, by means of science, culture, education, and upbringing. The journey of “reason” to itself, its embodiment in “labor,” and the creation of culture - this is a true “odyssey” of affirming humanity in its own identity, humaneness, and compassion.
